To detect possible areas of litter accumulation it is necessary to know the current field of the study area, responsible for the displacement of them. Once the hydrodynamics is known, it is possible to calculate the trajectories followed by the discharge using a Lagrangian model. For the ROMULO project one has been developed, allowing to detect possible garbage accumulation points.
The hydrodinamics information has been obtained from simulations carried out with ROMS (Regional Ocean Model System).
The lagrangian model has been applied to:
- Mar Menor
- Puerto de Cartagena
